Chocolate Chip Cookies to save the world

3/4 cup sugar (a mix of white and brown- more brown makes softer cookies)
1/2 cup margarine
1 tsp (or more) vanilla. The more vanilla, the better.
1/4 - 1/2 cup of applesauce (organic, unsweetened is best)
1 1/2 cups flour (wheat, spelt, rice. almost any kind will work)
1/4 cup oatmeal
if you addicted to chocolate, substitute some of the oatmeal for powdered sweetened baking chocolate, or hot cocoa mix
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
chocolate chips - lots! (about half a bag seems good)

Mix it all together. No fancy mixers necessary, just a wooden spoon. Spoon out and glob onto the cookie sheet cookies that are about the size of a ping-pong ball. Don't roll them, though, that's way too organized. No little wimpy teaspoon sized cookies here- if you get more than 16 out of this batch, you're lucky.

Bake at 350 degrees for 11-13 minutes.

Everyone should eat some chocolate chip cookies today.
